You Don’t Want This M548A1 Tracked Amphibious Vehicle…You Need It! This Thing Is Mint!

Now this is something else! You are looking M548A1 tracked amphibious vehicle which is for sale by a private seller and appears to be in damned near brand new shape. This is the “pickup truck” version of the armored M113 armored personnel carrier. What makes this thing triple bad ass is the fact that it has the fiberglass hard top enclosed cab, it has the forestry protector/roll over protection system exocage, and it has a Detroit Diesel engine so it’ll make smoke and scream like a proper military vehicle does when it is in use. The machine can carry about five and a half tons in the bed and it’s run nearly 40mph on flat ground.

At the front of the rig is a 20-ton recovery winch and the M548A1 only has 1500 original miles and 250 total hours of running time on the engine. These things came out in the middle 1960s and while they could have been lightly armored with a forward machine gun, they were designed to be worker bees that hauled loads and people through tough terrain that trucks and other stuff would have sunk into.

These babies rarely show up for sale and even doubly more cool is the fact that it is a private seller and not a government auction that can be dubious in its description and is basically a blind sale. You know exactly what you are getting with this one and it’s all awesome.
