This Nissan Patrol Still Has The Plastic On The Seats And Less Than 100 KM On The Odometer, But Is Ready To Stomp Lamborghinis!

The Nissan Patrol is a big SUV. In person, it’s pretty comparable to a Chevrolet Tahoe in size, but unlike the Tahoe, you wouldn’t have any reservation about off-roading one. The Patrol’s off-road mannerisms have made it the vehicle of choice for the United Nations, the Irish Army, and just about anywhere that off-roading is more normal than recreation. We never got the Patrol here in the North America market, but in the Middle East these things are everywhere, and usually in the same trim level: nearly stripped. You get the engine, manual transmission, white paint with some kind of red stripe, and you are on your way. Most Patrols look just like the one pictured. But this white box-on-wheels isn’t your average, ordinary SUV. This Patrol was built to embarrass Lamborghinis, and it does the trick.

Our friends at 1320Video have taken a vacation from winter, and are in the UAE filming. This particular Patrol was built up by Al-Anabi Performance and it’s legit: there is 800 horsepower coming out of the Patrol’s TB48DE inline-six. In stock form, that motor pumps out 276 horsepower, which sounds more like Japan’s “Gentlemen’s Agreement” BS than a real figure. But a GT48 turbocharger, new pistons and rods…and yes, Virginia, that’s a real five-speed being rowed!…and you have a flying brick that will shock the hell out of a lot of would-be hot shoes. And this is a conservative tune…some of the dune-runners over there have cranked over 2,000 horsepower out of this engine!
