This Turbocharged LS Powered Mud Truck Has Old School Looks But Ridiculous Modern Power

Mud guys and drag racers have more in common than they know, especially when it comes to horsepower. Both factions want as much as they can make and they aren’t afraid to use it. The mud guys like the wheel speed and ability to plane across the top of the muck if necessary and the drag race guys want all that power to shove their cars down the track to the finish line with a lower elapsed time than the guy in the other lane. Their worlds collide in this big Chevy crew cab truck which has a set of tractor tires on it and a 6.0L LS engines under the hood with an 83mm single turbo on it. Like all turbo combos the thing is pretty docile until the driver laces the gas pedal. When that happens those big tires start chewing and this thing rolls through the gumbo like it isn’t even there.

We dig the fact that this truck has an old school look to it with the big yellow shock absorbers and the tractor tires that are big but not cartoonish like some of the stuff we are seeing. While we appreciate the advance of technology used in these trucks, which are more often than not full tube chassis affairs now, there’s something to be said for a rig like this that looks tough, can perform, and with the crew cab, can haul friends along for the madness.

One our “list of toys we will someday have” a truck like this is right at the top. We may go with a turbocharged rat motor but either way, big horsepower, big tires, and a nose bleeding stance is all 100% BangShifty stuff in our book!
