To some people a mud bog pit looks like a sloppy obstacle course that you kind of attack and then slog your way through. For others, it looks like a runway that can be traversed as nicely as a 747 does on concrete. Obviously the quickest way through a mud bog pit is to use momentum, horsepower, and insane wheel speed to plane across the top of it. That’s exactly what you are going to see in this video. The apparently screw blown engine in this truck makes huge power and it does so instantly. That instant wheel speed is what allows the rear paddle tires to grab the mud and heave the truck on plane.
We love watching the front axle dance around as it is basically hovering over the top of the mud on this run. We cannot say that this was the best pass of the career of the man driving the truck but it looks so close to perfect that he had to have been ecstatic. We have always wanted to see how long one of these trucks could maintain their planing status on mud. Imagine a 1,000ft long pit and this truck with the hammer down for that amount of time. Completely insane, right?
I’d also love to know the top speed achieved on this run because the truck was hauling the mail. The paddle tires work incredibly well!
