I’ve figured out mega trucks…it’s taken me a while, but I’ve finally figured out their purpose: have you ever looked at a remote-controlled car and wondered what it would be like if you scaled it up to a real-life vehicle? That’s what mega trucks are! The tires might as well say Traxxas on them, but that makes them awesome, because unlike the remote-controlled versions, there is no battery to wind down. You mat the gas, and whatever happens…like a mud pit, a jump, or the random car in the path of your tires…will happen. In this case we have Cory Rummell and the “Going Deep” truck, which if my eyesight is correct is 90% fabrication and the useable part of a first-gen S-10 cab. Cory has convinced himself that he is the second coming of Travis Pastrana and is going to backflip “Going Deep”. Sound like a good idea? Of course not, but what the hell…we have a wall, a big truck and a driver that has more….um, “courages” than brains, so sit back, hit play, and let’s see if this is a pass, fail, or a trip to the hospital!
Looks like Cory’s finally perfected his technique, and set the truck up so it can take this. I saw him attempt this for the first time at Yankee Lake in 2012, and it didn’t end as well as this did (the truck broke a steering knuckle off on the attempt and flopped on it’s back).
Bet any money he about crapped himself when the truck stood up on it’s back like that!
