If this were a sports car we’d call it an autocross or a gymkhana but because it is an Iveco big rig, we’re calling it a rodeo. You may think you are somebody behind the wheel but until you can handle a big truck like this guy does in the video you are about to watch, you ain’t spit. Obviously this was filmed in Europe somewhere but we have no clue where. Our ability to pinpoint what language is being spoken in the background is bad. The dude could have a Brooklyn accent and we’d botch it so you can tell US where it is happening.

At the end of the day location is not important though. The skill and acumen shown by this driver are flat out nuts. As he bombs through the gates of the slalom like a boss we didn’t know how the rest of the course was laid out. He pulls into the stop box and bums the stick down (which he is supposed to do) and then he completes the quickest reverse 180 in the history of big rig driving. Backing the truck into the same box he just nosed into, he then sets off for the remainder of the course and takes a nearly impossible turn with inches of perfection. This is a guy who could navigate tight city streets without sweating.

I spent several years of my life driving big trucks in and around Boston. I thought I was pretty good and could hustle my junk into some spots that were pretty tight but this driver makes me look like I belong in a Prius. We talk about the skills race drivers have all the time but there is a skill set that truck drivers have which we completely under appreciate. Let this video give you some idea of what the better drivers on the road are capable of. The sad fact is that most of this country could not do what this guy is about to do in a golf cart, let alone a massive tractor trailer.
