(By Scott Liggett) – We found this video thanks to Ken Hervert, the secretary of the Nebraska Truck And Tractor Pullers Association. Ken asked us to put together a DVD from a whole bunch of the 2014 season’s video taped runs for their annual banquet. While watching a few hundred videos of runs, (The real reason your DVD took so long to make, Ken.) we found this short video and watched it a dozen times.
This Dodge truck called Blood, Sweat and Beers is owned by Chris Avers who competes in the 6200 Two Wheel Drive category. Late last July at the meet in Aurora, NE, Chris blew his giant right rear tire near the beginning of his run. Most would have just shut down and gone to get get another tire to fight race day. Not Chris. Nope. He hammers the throttle and keeps going. Listen closely and you can hear him bouncing off his rev limiter for days as the tatters of his tire plays handball with the truck bed.
We at Bangshift like this kind of tenacity, refusing to quit, and not worrying about the paint job. Go get ’em Chris Avers! We look forward to seeing you in the 2015 season.
