For this week’s edition of “this guy’s day sucks way worse than yours” we take you to an unnamed automatic car wash and the security camera that captures a moment in time that the guy caught up in it will never forget. After repeatedly watching this happen we still cannot get a good handle on how the guy managed to get himself literally wrapped up in one of the massive brushes that is designed to scrub cars on the way by. There does appear to be a hose that he’s unraveling and perhaps that is what gets caught in the brush and drags him in but something sure gets him hooked and then he is off to the races and he looks like some sort of overgrown albino spider monkey clinging onto the brush.
Eventually the guy either falls off or is thrown off of the brush and he kind of lays there on the ground as the thing gives him an aggressive back polishing. Eventually he kind of staggers away. How in the hell did this happen? How in the hell did the people watching this tape at first not literally die of laughter? What do you think this guy said when someone asked him how work went that day? So many questions!
My own car wash tale. When working at the transit garage at UMass I had to supervise a wash crew every Thursday night. On a bet one night I ran full speed through the bus washer which was a big automatic car wash. Those brushes are no joke. They have some weight to them and the flappy things will kind of kick your ass if you are not paying attention. I did not get caught in anything and I think I made beer money for the night by doing that. Yes, I am an idiot, but not as big an idiot as this guy!
Yowza! I’ve been in the automotive detailing field for over 20 years. I’ve seen first hand the damage automatic washes do to a car’s finish. Those things are the devil. That car wash cowboy had to be hurtin’ after that rodeo.
