Maine’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is no stranger to the electronic pages of BangShift. The 1/3 mile flat oval has been featured here several times for the antics that happen during the “spectator drags” races held as filler during big races at the facility. This time we’re showing you what could be the greatest spectator drags performance of all time and it involves a Chevy 2500HD truck with a ladder rack, a plow frame, (we think) a 6.0 LS, and a guy who is the Emerson Fittipaldi of spectator drags truck racing. The video is a highlight reel of this truck’s greatest accomplishments and it is one of the most entertaining four minute internet videos we have ever laid eyes on.
Yes the guy spins the truck a time or two but it is shown laying down some amazing tire burning drifts and smacking down high performance trucks, all the while looking like it is heading for the next roofing job or a bathroom remodeling estimate. The title of the video says that the truck has a 6.0L engine with an automatic behind it. The narrow tires with the still E-load range sidewalls make this thing a good drifter but the driver has to get a ton of credit as well, especially during the times when he is able to hold the truck in a full drift around the corners of the track.
Lastly, if you have ever wondered what a Maine accent sounds like, this video will give you a great education because the announcer has a strong one for sure. The crowd seems to love the dude and for good reason, he puts on a hell of a show. At one point in the video he spins the truck into huge tires that are the guard wall on the inside of the front straight and one of the front tires gets knocked off the bead. Rather than stopping he just burns the rear tires to the cords doing donuts. The man is a BangShifty hero!
Thanks to bracket racing ace Kyle Burns for the tip on this cool truck!
