Firstly we have to thank BangShifter Arild Guldbrandsen for the tip on this video and secondly we have to thank two tenacious mo fo’s down in Brazil who refused to let common sense, physics, and/or a fear of their creator get in the way of finishing the job. What you’ll see in this video is a tractor trailer truck that has apparently gotten itself stuck half way up a very steep hill in a city. The thing is laden down with two really long trailer full of something that we couldn’t identify. It could be rocks, scrap metal, we’re just not sure. What we are sure of is that the truck and its driver are in a bad way.
The next thing you’ll notice is a pair of big rig tow trucks hooked in-line with the stranded truck. They are trying desperately to move the big bastard but it seems that even with two of them, this is a bleak situation. They make a series of pulls and the truck barely moves. They actually get a run at it going once, but their success is short lived. The really wild part of this whole deal is watching the truck in the middle between the lead wrecker and the dead unit. That thing gets pulled into the air, sideways, wheels up, and every other awkward direction possible. All that with just a single spindly cable hooked to each end. If the cable from the lead truck broke and that whole mess got a little head of steam heading backward down the hill…well, look out world!
The good news is that the dudes ultimately succeed but there’s a lot of tire smoking, near stalling, and tired old truck groaning before they do! We take lots of stuff for granted living here. It isn’t much of an event to see a big 500+ horse Kenworth, Peterbilt, or other brand of wrecker with a 60-85 ton rotating crane on it pluck a big truck off the side of the road or drag it out of the ditch. In places where such tools do not exist, balls and a never say quit attitude are what get you through situations like this!
