Ben involved with cars and racing since 1963, S/S Mopars, mostly, but ran a turbo, nitrous funnybike after we stopped racing due to the Chrysler boycott of Pro Stock. Native N.Y.'er, ran Dover, Lebanon, Island, Conn Dragway, etc. Thirty years in advanced composites in the aerospace industry out in Oklahoma, the last dozen or so years in high end auto/race composites. My daily driver is just a beater '80 Plymouth Arrow pickup with a 360 in it, and I'm building a period correct '66 Dart stretched nose, doorslammer exhibition/match racer, along the lines of Charlie Allen's old car, if any of you remember that. I'm also doing a '27 T project along the lines of the Speed Sport car, a mid engined altered roadster, for my grandkids to play with, mostly.

Hi. My name's Scott and Ive been sober for....wait, wrong forum. My bad. I met Chad and Brian at the Hot Rod reunion in Bowling Green and thought i'd stop by and add my two cents where I could. I'm also related to another gearhead who belongs to this site so it's true, its genetic. I have a 92 Mustang LX with a Supercharged 306. Supercharger is Kenne Bell, Block is DSS, Heads are from AFR(185's), 42 lb/hr injectors, Anderson Ford PMS/Intake pipe. All Forged internals, stud girdle, 8.4:1 Compression. Set for 8lbs of boost but only seeing 7 according to PMS. I also have a 2002 VRod that is extremely fun to ride. Thanks for having me here, I look forward to getting to know you all....
I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party...and he has these giant eagles wings, and he's singin' lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band and I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk! - Cal Naughton

                  Hi all,

Name is Bob, retired Merchant Marine. Been a gearhead for 40+ years. Now I'm into high power-low weight rides, got tired of fighting the Laws of Physics. Current ride is a 1923 Track-T, 383 stroker mouse built for torque down low, gave up about 120 hp on the top end. 516 lb/ft @ 2800 to a TKO 600 5 speed and a Jag IRS 3.54. Car weighs 1790 lbs.

                      Thanks Phil,

Looks like you have been at this forum for awhile. As large as it is, I wonder how I've missed it. Done the HAMB thing, felt too much like high school. Do enjoy HotRodding.com, (2) Cobra forums, a GT 40 forum, and of course my little Tbuckets forum.

Bitchin' car, man! That thing must haul the mail with all that torque.

Thanks for joining in the fun here on BangShift!

                          Brian,

A welcome from the big kahuna, I feel honored. The torque is really a hoot, the engine before was a more "typical" build with peak hp at 6100, peak torque at 4200, which will give a better ET in the 1/4, but not near as fun to drive on the street. It is more fun (and attracts less attention) to win a street confrontation shifting at 3500, than to be screaming to 6500 for shifts.

Back in 2008 when I got interested in Power Tour I was steered over here (when it was still Car Junky TV I think) from the Hot Rod Forum - haven't been kicked off yet. I try not to root against the Bruins or the Sox - unless they are playing against a Detroit team.

Not getting kicked off speaks well for this forum. I have been banned for life from the HAMB for posting a "spirited" driving video of my Track-T.
