I am up from 227 to 241...but thats the direction I want to go...I eat a lot and I lift a lot...about 4K calories a day....Lifting 4 to 5 days a week. I believe much of it is lean muscle BUT there I am putting on some fat as well...goes with the territory.

Trying hard to eat clean, no crap. So oatmeal with honey, lean beef and chicken, brown rice, veggies, If I want to cut weight I wil leat the same stuff, just cut it in 1/3 and the weight will drop...pretty happy.

That's the tough part...making the changes permanent. you need to figure out how to eat well all the time, not just temporarily.

I've been off soda for over a year and a half. Alcohol a lot longer

Soda won't be a problem for me - I've never been a big "pop" drinker - unlike my brother who used to drink 6 cokes a day - and now has problems with digestion and tooth decay to show for it. Diet soda is even worse - that stuff is like poison. I drink allot of water, tea, coffee. I have given up caffeine before - I didn't like it. Something will eventually kill me - if I get to enjoy coffee and a few beers along the way - so be it, moderation is the key. I can't eat like I'm spending 2 hours a day in the gym like I used to.

I had a beer yesterday. One. The new not so much stress job is awesome - I was worried I'd get fat and be drunk all the time. I've cut out about 1500-1800 calories a day. We'll see if that helps. I started to lose some right before I retired by eating all day - but small quantities and healthier stuff... toasted oats, nuts, granola, fruit, yuck. It's expensive to eat healthy!

My curse is ice cream. I only eat it when I can find it.

Been on the road for 37 years. Stay in the 200-210 range. FAst walk every morning (13 minute miles) for 20 minutes. Used to run but too old. It's all portions. Found that low carbs and high protein makes my body happy. Finding what your body likes and doesn't is the factor.Breakfast 2 eggs and bacon. Nothing else. Lunch-Sandwich of some kind. Dinner- 8-12oz. Entrée (Fish or Beef or Pork), vegetables and a couple of beers. I add the carbs the correct way! LOL. Only time I drink sodas is pulling the trailer home from the races after long day of racing. 1 or 2 sodas to get my blood sugar right. Decaffinated tea or water otherwise. Of course, I found out 4th of July that putting on 19.6 lbs. of -20 firesuit, HANS, boots, gloves, etc. to drive the new car in 93 degree heat with humidity is a great way to maintain weight. Allows you to drink as much beer as you want when you get home and still lose weight!!

I'm watching what goes into my pie hole... Less and better.. But I now have a severe case of trots which the doc isn't worried about.. Just doesn't want me constapated..
When it isn't over 80* and I'm in the shade, I'll cut wood, mow grass.. Don't walk very well so that is hard to do.. Went from 345-350 to 315-320... Got more to go... Went to the new pool a few blocks from me.. Asked about sr citizen lap sessions.. $5.00 a pop!
anything I do is a sweat fest.. Always been that way.. Even at 185#.. Built a small table in the shade towards dark when it gets cool, my shirt was soaked..

My biggest problem is I don't eat then when I do, I overeat! Or watching tv, I like something.. Then it becomes somethingS..

A year later, if anybody lost weight, I found it. The scale was banished to the garage to weigh car parts, I don't wanna know what it thinks of me.

                            • Still hovering around 165 or so, down from my worst of 194. Careful eating, no cheese or sugar, and as much shop time as I can make happen. Trying to keep blood sugar stable is, as always, an on-going challenge (Type 1- no pancreatic function). Sometimes I have to eat because blood sugar is low so I get calories I don't even want.
