We are OUT of VA. the property sold and we back in TN.

I've been waiting several weeks for an excavator to show up and start prepping the hillside for the new shop.
He showed up Tuesday afternoon and now it's raining what a mess. Oh well its progress.

a shot from yesterday before it started getting really muddy

Very cool. I'm always interested in how people build a shop from scratch. Do we check here for updates?

As mentioned above, I'd love to see how you build a shop from scratch. Are you planning on starting a thread?

        • I should have posted mine but I'm not sure BS was on the Interwebs yet. Being steel framed, it was different.

            Thanks!
HMMM, I hadn't considered doing a thread. The delays are already making me crazy(er)
The excavator hasn't been started in a week, there is standing water and sloppy mud on the entire slope with more rain forecast for tomorrow.
I almost rolled the tractor today trying to carry logs in the slop. Sliding sideways down the hill loaded was NO BUEANO!

I thought I was pressing my luck with a non project car mention in here.

I honestly don't even know what size it will be, I will make the determination once the site is cleared and leveled.

I'm pinched in by a large ledge/bedrock, so the depth into the hill will be less than I hopped. It's looking like I will be limited to gable end entry, not what I was hoping for.

me? start a thread? oh no, after the last time of being accused of building a missile site - I'm not sure I can, again, handle all the federal agencies that would come calling in northern Idaho (bastards expect coffee and donuts every morning)

and really... of course, but at this moment it will be of a snow field.
