Yellow Fellows: This 1960 John Deere Film Profiles Their Industrial Tractors As Well As The Cool Attachments and Add Ons!

Now THIS is what I’m talking about. The film below was made in 1960 by John Deere and it is a promotional tool for their massive lineup of Industrial tractors. We’re talking loaders, bulldozers, and to a degree small farm tractors as well. We all know that the big John Deere farm tractors have been green and gold forever and it is iconic. We’re guessing that many of you know the industrial tractors to be yellow. That’s why you’ll see one predominant color in this film and it ain’t green.

Industrial tractors don’t necessarily get the same type of love as the more majestic and powerful farm tractors and we get that. The huge engines, the high stance, the tricycle style front end that many had in this era. Those are all defining things. This said, we may have more love for the little industrial tractors seen here on job sites moving earth, digging trenches, and doing the type of yeoman’s stuff that was backbreaking hand work on a few years before.

Like all things in 1960, power was coming up in industrial tractors. It is a common theme here. Strength, ease of use, and durability as well. You know, the same stuff everyone still sells on today. Enjoy this film, we sure did!

Press play below to head back in time to tractor heaven, circa 1960!
