2010 Justice Brothers Shav Glick Award Nominees Named

2010 Justice Brothers Shav Glick Award Nominees Named

Shav Glick was the legendary writer for the Los Angeles Times who covered auto racing for 37 years. Glick covered everything from drag racing to Indy cars and all things in between. An award was created in his name to honor people who have made contributions to motorsports in California. Guys like Parnelli Jones, Dan Gurney, and other all-time racers have been honored with the award. This year’s class of nominees is no group of slouches, either.

The men who are on the ballot are Tommy Ivo, Jeff Gordon, Paul Newman, and motorcycle racing legend Kenny Roberts. It is a pretty amazing group that makes Jeff Gordon, one of the best NASCAR drivers of all time, seem like the odd man out. Our heart is pulling for Ivo, but our brain is telling us that great racer and all around good man the late Paul Newman will be honored by tha judging panel.
