Just a couple hours ago the 2015 Corvette Z06 was unveiled for the assembled press in Detroit. The bad news is that we weren’t there first hand. The good news is that we had someone in the building with a camera and that someone just blasted us a load of photos of the car and the display it is residing in. Along with the screaming yellow Z06, there is a cool silver/grey one, the C7.R racing Corvette, and a host of other cool stuff like cutaways and things of that nature.
The car was revealed to have 625hp and 635 lb/ft of torque generated by a supercharged version of the LT1 engine dubbed the “LT4”. This engine has lots more potential than 625hp, by the way and we already know that from some testing being done by high level folks at a couple of different companies. There are three trim levels available for the first time on a Z06, there’s an automatic (8-speed) option available for the first time on a Z06, and there’s more aerodynamic bits, and hard core race parts available (hello carbon ceramic brakes) for buyers to option as well. The car is already known to be far faster than a ZR1 on the same course. Sorry ZR1 owners, you’ve been served.
The car is intended to be a destroyer on the track, capable of taking on the world’s best sports and super cars and beating them about the face and neck with pushrods and a blower. You have to love it. Hit the link below to see all of our Z06 photos from right now!

You knocked it out of the PARK ! AGAIN ! NICE JOB ! GUY’S !
all hail the power of pushrods!
Hail Push Rods. Ommm.
What was the guy that came up with that design smoking?
What ever it was 440, it was the good stuff and the right stuff, because this thing rules!
Great looking car from front and side view, not sure about the back end.. Looks like a Lexus LFA to me
IDK,…ive always liked corvettes, but this looks like a transformer vette with a little camaro added in for fun. looks too futuristic for me taste. maybe its the yellow? the siver/gray one looks much better for some reason.
I am on the fence looking at the pictures.
But, I have to say that the designers of late who want to make a car more aggressive usually just hang a bunch of gaudy crap off the sides that seem to only appeal to teenage video game players. Here’s to really getting aggressive without 300 lbs of plastic crap dangling off the sides.
Nobody could have done more of a disservice to classic Corvette stylings. There was a term I used as a teen to mock the suckers with the chrome windshield wipers and silver tape gas caps. “Schuck’s Attachments”, this body is silly. Transformers is so 5 years ago.
