The American Drag Racing League has released the schedule for its 2011 tour. The series will visit two places it has not seen before, Maple Grove Raceway in PA and Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly Moroso Motorsports Park)in Palm Beach, Florida. The new venues seem to have been added for different reasons.

The series raced at the currently definct Gateway International Raceway outside of St. Louis last year, so that hole in the schedule needed to be filled. It seems the Maple Grove addition was made to do just that. Long time ADRL tour stop South Georgia Motorsports Park in Valdosta, GA lost their early season date, which was replaced by the visit to PBIR.

This will be an interesting year in the ADRL. The leadership of the company is in transition, with Kenny Knowling heading overseas to develop the arabian end of the operation, and some have intimated that a transition away from the “free ticketing” track that has provided the ADRL with bumper crowds may be in the works as well.

Whatever you opinion of the series, it is impossible to say that the on-track action is anything less than breathtaking. The quickest and fastest eighth-mile door slammer racing in the world happens on the ADRL trail and we look forward to bringing you as much of that action as we can in 2011!

SEPT. 23-24: ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V; Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, Ohio.
OCT. 21-22: LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII; Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Texas.
