We have recently learned that Edelbrock laid off 16 employees off today. These employees, as we understand it, make up support staff for Edelbrock’s EFI systems and their development.
Edelbrock sells a fair amount of EFI equipment, so we’re pretty suprised that these were the people who were let go abruptly.
This is obviously a sign of the economic times facing all companies, and especially those in the automotive aftermarket. Recognized industry giants like Edelbrock are certainly not immune to economic pressure. We hope that the rest of the employees are able to maintain their employment and that when things turn the corner, those guys and girls laid off on Tuesday can find work with the company again. We know some of these people, so this one hits extra close to home.
