BangShift Destination: The Northeast Classic Car Museum

BangShift Destination: The Northeast Classic Car Museum

We’ve been on a museum kick lately, and so have fellow BangShifters. Jeremy George, a BangShift forum member recently visited the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich, NY and sent us a note telling all about the great collection and assorted stuff at the museum. Since we’re all about encouraging our readers to get out and have some BangShifty fun whenever possible, here’s the dirt on the museum.

With more than 160 cars on display and tons of great historical and automotive relics, this is a great place to check out for any car guy and lover of American history. The collection is filled with cars from various periods and genres, but we were enthralled with Jeremy’s photos showing some cool iron from the primordial days of automotive construction and design. Ancient race cars always catch our attention, too.

Operated by a Board of Trustees, the museum has four full time employees and more than 100 volunteers to help it operate. That’s our kind of place, as everyone involved shares the passion for cars and has a vested interest in seeing the museum thrive and grow.

There is still a bunch of time before the weather moves into the favorable zone with respect to cruising and enjoying your hot rod. Visting museums like the Northeast Classic Car Museum is a great way to pass the winter blues and learn about the great history of the automobile as well as the history of America.

Jeremy shot a bunch of photos which you can see here!

You can visit the museum’s homepage here
