Today the question centers around acceleration contests. Do you like yours in the long, drawn out format of land speed racing or the brutally short and violent format of drag racing? Having actively competed in both worlds we’re having a tough time picking ourselves. 

While both land speed racing and drag racing center around driving really fast in a straight line, there are untold hours of preparation and work behind each and every trip down the course. Both are firmly planted in the bedrock of automotive performance that even people who know nothing about cars think about. “How fast is it?” Both sports are accepting and even encouraging when it comes to unique and interesting engines and both are mostly populated by regular Joe’s who have sacrificed their blood, sweat, and time to construct and compete with their cars.
