So here’s the deal, last night at a press event Chevrolet Performance unveiled the 2014 COPO Camaro. The car they dropped the curtain on was painted a new hue called Ice Blue. The big deal about the color is that this car is the only one that will be painted this tone for 2014. In 2015 we expect it to be a regular color because there was a Chevy Silverado 3500 COPO Hauler edition rendering shown as well. The COPO Hauler truck will be painted Ice Blue like the car was. We assume that if you order that package in 2015 you’ll be able to match the colors of the car and truck no matter your decision, but that is a blind guess on our part.
So any who, this raised an interesting question between Chad and I. If you were actually buying a COPO Camaro would you give a rip what color it was? The car is a significant purchase by any measure and obviously the majority of the purchasers are hard core drag racers so we’re wondering if color has any bearing on their buying decision. Chad and I both agree that we wouldn’t care about the color if we were on the buying end but that doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t. Chad and I may be the weirdos here. Ok, we’e normally the weirdos here.
BangShift Question Of The Day: If You Were Buying A 2014 COPO Camaro Would You Care What Color It Was?
The color of money….
Regardless of the color, that’s one fugly car…
you sir need to lay off the crack and clean your glasses
Crack? Camaro’s more of a meth cooker’s whip, Tuco. Aztek ugly.
it would have to be black or white. Yes, I care.
Lemans blue (uu) with white stripes.
This.
Daytona Yellow
Heck I wouldn’t take one if it was offered for Free …. in any color , guise or options list . Fact is the Camaro is nothing but a re-hashed left over parts bin Holden with a pretentious Cartoon Like Camaro body on top with more blind spots than a full faced helmet with duct tape over most the visor and for way too much money .. and ‘assembled ‘ in Canada to boot .
But if you must … Lemon Yellow … with the emphasis on ” LEMON ‘ ……. if’n you’re catching my meaning 😉
A Speedy rant if I ever read one . . . (You can change the name, but not the writing style).
The only problem I have? COPO used to be used for “If we can bolt it together, you can order it.” These are going the opposite way.
COPO? Would they’d build one in primer gray with a tube front axle, American Racing 200s wheels and a Grump Lump?
BTW, does anyone have a copy of the words to the Star Spangled . . .um . . . thingie . . . uh . . Anthem that I can borrow?

Not feeling digging those wheels, for sure….
Just saw the blue today. Looks good. The rear wheels have C O P O on them. Looks great.
If I’m shelling out the coin for one of these beasts, paint how I want it: Hugger Orange, black stripes.
candy purple over a silver base
If i had the cash to buy one i would want it to be one of the original colors from 1969 as long as mine wasnt yellow.
I love seeing the big 3 making these factory drag cars!!
But those are some ugly wheels on the front! Almost looks like the old fox body spare tire but with a flower pattern.
Im not a fan of this color at all. It looks exactly the same as the light blue color that the mustang has offered since 05. The rear end of this car ruins the whole thing however the front isnt bad. Nothing says a nice afternoon nap quite like light blue.
That’s exactly what a trespasser in a hoodie would think.
Actually, that heap is ugly regardless of color. Why DID we fork over billions to bail out GM?
Factory race cars rule. The new ProStock. Any color. Has no bearing on performance.
If I got one then it’s getting painted or wrapped in my team colors. They might as well ship them in primer.
BLACK – Got any blacker?
Black looks great on almost everything.
Black is only good as an accent color. Too boring for the main hue.
Way too much black on modern cars (especially under the hood)
BTW, they should call that car CoPOS . . . .
Could care less what color.
If I wa buying a COPO my family would have me committed and use the money to buy a Shelby or Saleen Stang.
It would HAVE to be black.
Don’t think it has any chance of happening, but if you guys can swing it for me..,.any color will do.
Nice sky blue with ghost flames
White is easier to letter up or paint for racing. Who really cares once you get on the short list or even get the call.
Would not buy a Gm product to start With definitely And not an overpriced piece of shit Camaro… I much rather spend my money on a 2014 Cobra jet hand down a mach faster car and looks so much better……
Goodwood Green w/white stripes
I like just as it is warts and all. Oops I mean wheels and all
Turds are brown . . . Just sayin. GO COBRA JET!
Garnet Red just like my first COPO Camaro
if their giving them away–any color
Yes, I would want a different color. I am partial to the bright pearl green . The new color is fine but not me.
Color ain’t bad. Ur those damn rims ugly as hell
