Barris Kustoms Releases a Custom 2010 Camaro, We Release Our Lunch

Some truly whacked stuff has left the doors of Barris Kustoms in recent years. There was a Prius for starters, but this 2010 Camaro “Spirit” beats them all by a country mile. A “kustom” that was constructed by swapping the grill for some chain parts store chrome and hideous paint, this is a sad addition to the Barris Kustoms legacy. And he plans to sell multiple copies through the Chevy dealer network!

It’s time for George to put the tools and ideas down and step away from the car. This is true even if the only tool he is holding is the screwdriver used to install the awful grill in the “Spirit.” When we read the breathless release that describes this car as “one of the hottest and long-awaited ‘kustom’ Chevrolets in history,” we were moved to laughter.

Hear that? It’s Louis Chevrolet clawing out of his grave to drive to the house of the guy who wrote that and slap him silly.

This one is really bad enough that we thought this to be a late blooming April Fool’s joke. Check this direct quote from the release that was supposedly spoken by Barris himself! “Today so many kustom vehicles have entirely too much work done on them,” says Barris. I believe we have succeeded in developing a kustom vehicle with just the right amount of kustom features and keeping it affordable to the automotive enthusiast while being made in the USA.”

One question we have is, WTF?

Check out the list of “kustom” features added by the fellows at Barris Kustoms:

Kustom painted hood with deep pearl and metallic accents emphasizing the wide, aggressive stance of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.

Kustom painted front fenders and doors. Aerodynamic “Spear” blurs the vision with a striking burst of speed (this sounds like something you’d read from a website that shows odd Japanese to English translations)

Kustom foil “hand swirled” striping and beautifully pin-stripping outline the kustom paint on the hood, front fenders, and doors.

Kustom paint to accent the rear fender louvers

(seeing a theme yet?)

Kustom paint to accent the four taillight tunnels

Kustom 3 bar legend grill

“Spirit” name is added to both fenders along with a Barris Kustoms insignia

Barris Kustom dash plaque hand signed by George Barris

Lexani Chrome Pinted Spoked Wheels

If the “Spirit” moves you to buy this, you should be placed on a government list.
