For whatever reason, there seems to be way more songs about giant Detroit iron than anything else. The good thing is that most of them are pretty good, this one included. In the tune you’ll hear below called Detroit Made which was written and is performed by John Hiatt, he sings about his big Buick Electra 225. From cruising around in the car picking up girls, to the bargain in buying a deuce and a quarter over a Cadillac, Hiatt’s song is truly a celebration of the classic machine. In what has to be one of the best compliments a songwriter or performer can get, Bob Seger actually opens up the shows on his latest tour by playing this very song! High praise, indeed.
Enjoy this musical love letter to one of the great Buick models of all time, the legendary Electra 225 by John Hiatt!
