BangShift Daily Tune Up: Drag City – Jan and Dean (1963)

Jan and Dean were on top of the world in the early 1960s. Their tunes like Surf City, this song Drag City, The Little Old Lady From Pasadena, and Dead Man’s Curve all lived at the top (or damned near it) on the Billboard charts. Their golden years can partially be attributed to genius Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame who collaborated with Jan Berry on a number of their hit songs. This happens to be one of our favorites for obvious reasons.

By the time you read this, Chad and I will be at the strip on the grounds of Palm Beach International Raceway making our preparations for this weekend’s broadcast of the 2013 PRO Winter Warm up that will turn PBIR into Drag City both in Florida and across the world as we beam our signal to all corners of the Earth starting on Friday at 10 AM Eastern.
