Today’s BS Daily Tune Up is about comedy and bad ass drumming. Dedicated reader Anthony Castillo sent the link to this video over, so he gets all the credit. Basically, what you are going to see is an oddly dressed cover band play a version of ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” with a twist. That twist is an incredible and comedic drummer named Steve Moore. Rather than just sit behind his set and pound the hides, Moore puts on a nearly theatrical performance that includes all kinds of wild drumming moves, tricks, maniac level flailing, drumming like a robot, and things that are honestly impossible to describe.
The title of the video is, “this drummer is at the wrong gig” and we’re agreeing with that assessment. Nothing against the guys in the gold and sparkly jackets, but the real show here was going on behind you the entire time you were playing. Words do this no justice, you literally HAVE to see it! It gets going from 1:00 on and really rules from 4:00 to the end. This guy is even loved by hard core pro rock drummers!
