John Lee Hooker is an American blues legend. His collection of songs is so long that we’d need to fire up another server to list them all. This is one of our favorites and it is a bit of an “answer song” to Mustang Sally. In this tune, Mustang Sally has ditched her Ford for a Pontiac, specifically a GTO and she’s hauling ass around town. One of the great things about this song is that the lyrics get the point across without beating you over the head with it. One of the great lines in the tune is, “All you can see see the fog see the smoke get over out the road.” Yeah, Mustang Sally is killing tires for the pure enjoyment of it. That rules.
