Sammy Hagar is back on the BS Daily Tune up docket today. Last time we saw Sammy he was younger, wearing embarrassing pants, and singing about motorcycles with Montrose. Today we’re highlighting a song of of his 1979 solo album Street Machine. This song is called Trans Am and has the alternate title Highway Wonderland. He sings about banging gears, running the motor to the redline, and hauling ass which are all things that we approve of here at BangShift. Of course, we don’t think he is singing about a stock 1979 Trans Am because the whole hauling ass thing wasn’t really possible with about 180hp in a pretty heavy car, but a worked over unit with a hot 400ci Poncho mill rumbling under that screaming chicken is something we’d buy into and what ol Sammy would need to rule the streets as hard as he claims to in this song. You Pontiac guys will like the reference he makes to beating up on a 350 Chevy powered car.

Its too bad the youtube compression has blurred all the Trans Am photos.
Good song, but the live version is much better.

Driving with this song blasting in your car is the best thing that happens to me on the road!
