Twin Cacklefests Shaping Up to be Epic for the 2010 NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion

Twin Cacklefests Shaping Up to be Epic for the 2010 NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion

Aside from the awesome racing that will be had during the 2010 NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion coming in just a couple of weeks to Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California, the event will now feature two Cacklefests. Saturday night will showcase a push start style Cacklefest and Sunday will be punctuated with a static start version. This is the first time for twin cackle action, and the field of cars that will be on display is second to none.

More than 30 cars are on the roster thus far and there are some historically significant people and iron included. Don Long, the famed chassis builder, Tom Hanna, the mythically talented metal shaper, Ed Pink’s The Old Master dragster, Chris Karamesines’s Chizler, “Wild” Willy Borsch’s Funny Car, and a whole grip-load more.

Aside from the thunderous noise and wild header flames, the Cacklefests are an emotional experience for both the fans and participants. The events are as close as a vintage drag racing fan can some to time travel. Seeing the old cars, often with their original owners or drivers being people back to their youth in ways nothing else can.

Just like we were in Bowling Green, we are going to be on the scene with major league coverage. We hope to make an announcement about live video of the event very soon!
