Okay, so it’s not a ramp truck yet, but it certainly could be! You know that you’ve bought cars to build into hot rods that were farther away from done than this by a lot. In truth, depending on how you did it and how far you wanted to take it, this Chevrolet Viking is a simple build into one ultra bad ass ramp truck. Can you imagine how much cooler this would be than an open trailer?
We can, and have always wanted a ramp truck. Unbolt the flatbed structure on this one, tilt it up at the front and build your supports and you are super duper close to hauling cars. Hell, you COULD get this thing in car hauling shape in a weekend if you didn’t get crazy. It’s got the original 283 and 4 speed, so it’s no powerhouse, but we’d fix that.
Someone needs to buy this and host the thrash, because we’re in on helping make this into a seriously BangShift Approved ramp truck.
If you do want to get serious, there are a couple of options. Either do an engine swap and some/all of the suspension, OR throw the cab and custom ramp truck bed on a newer chassis and enjoy the fun modern stuff. A dually with a Duramax as a donor? Maybe.
Just think of all the possibilities.
Converted to a ramp truck and painted yellow, this thing would be a dead ringer for the shop truck my Uncle used when I was a kid.
When they’d open up the local track to the general mob after the evening’s race, everybody would pour out to check out the cars… except for me.
I just couldn’t get enough of that old truck.
Great find, Chad!
Bangshift approved battery strap too.
