(Photos by Charles Wickam) – We’re thinking about renaming our Texas based photographer Charles Wickam “ironman” after hearing his story of a 17-hour BangShifty Saturday. Over the next few days, you’ll be seeing his photos from that marathon day of swap meets, drag races, and dirt track action. We’re going to start from the end with a couple of funny photos first, though.
At some point in the night, Charles was driving by a car wash and spotted the below scene in progress. For whatever reason, this cracks us up. We know that there aren’t fairies who show up to wash race cars in the night, or maybe there are and those fairies happen to be bearded men. This photo may be proof. Either way, we’ve never seen a sprint car at a car wash in the middle of the night and it strikes us as caption worthy.

Hey…you missed a spot!
The funny thing about quarter car washes is how they can get the crap kicked out of them. My buddy owns one in Toledo area. He says that the farmers come and wash off their equipment there. He has found dead animals in the trash, the drains locked up straw, and the best poo!!!! and lots of it!! So a sprint car isn’t to bad. I’ll bet it was a little lighter when it left there.
