When these two are on a golf cart and smiling like Cheshire cats, life is probably fixin’ to get bad for other drag racers. The two men in question are of course, the always hard charging Billy Glidden and the godfather of huge cubic inches, Sonny Leonard. They have been working together for a year or more on engine combos in Glidden’s 10.5W Pontic GTO which is backed by Mickey Thompson.
The big news out of Leonard’s shop has been the 1,005ci engine he is now offering that makes well north of 2,000hp in naturally aspirated form. Add a poop ton of nitrous or a blower the size of a trash can on top and you can REALLY be somebody.
