This year’s Detroit Auto Show (oh, wait…I’m sorry…North American International Auto Show) kicks off today and you better believe that we will be bringing you the better pieces of what is shaping up to be a very entertaining week of news updates. Here’s why we’re excited: unlike the last five or so seasons, where the theme was “We’re still here, please buy our cars!”, this year there is a different feel in the air. It’s like everybody was sick of feeling bad and instead decided to just go absolutely buck-wild. And how…Ford’s got an entire freaking lineup ready just for Ford Performance. Nissan is unveiling the second-generation Titan, the one that will come with a Cummins diesel V8. FCA showed cards at the beginning of the year with the Hellcats, and the new Acura NSX will finally appear. Strangely enough, the green crowd will be as strong, with GM showing off the second-gen Volt and a new EV called Bolt (awww, cute!) Honda is expected to show an updated FCV, and Toyota’s Mirai fuel cell vehicle will round out that crowd.
Hello, optimism. Welcome back, we missed you.
So with all of the rumors out in the open, what do you want to see come out of this year’s show? Whatever Ford the “EcoBeast” name is attached to? Maybe you just want to see some new concept cars, like the Buick Avenir that was released yesterday? Hell, did you think Buick would put out a design with any kind of pulse anymore? Let us know below, and be sure to stay tuned to BangShift.com for news from the Detroit Auto Show!

That Buick is really nice. I wouldnt mind owning one.
I would like to see GM follow Nissan’s path and offer a diesel in a light duty, full size pickup or SUV. I love that gas prices are down now but I don’t see that lasting forever.
Dear GM,
Welcome back. As a previous Chevy/Buick/Pontiac customer I have waited for your return. In the absence of Pontiac, Buick and I may be able to work something out. There is one thing you need to remember if we are going to re-kindle any sort of relationship. I have purchased my last front wheel drive vehicle (from you or anybody else).
Get well soon,
Impala Guy
A 1,000 HP Viper Hellcat
I would like to see Lincoln and Cadillac get back to building real luxry cars and stop chasing the germans. I would love to see the big giant land yachts with huge leather couchs as front seats that rode on a cloud.
A new car that I can recognize from 100 ft away without seeing a gaudy, brand specific grille. I know. Too much to ask.
A stripped down two door Impala with an LS3 and 6 speed tremec trans along with an 8.8 rear end for under 27K.
I’ve been wanting to see the Cummins Titan for a while now, so that will be good. I’d love a rebaddged Holden/SS/G6 as a Buick GS, heck I’d even take a rebaddged ATS or CTS with a turbo six in GS trim and LS7 GS Stage One. I would also kiss someone at Ram’s ass for a Tahoe/Suburban fighter based on the Ram with 4×4 and a Cummins. While we’re on the wish list how about a full size Ram based Jeep truck, with M715 ish looks. A fella can dream right.
