Rough Start: A One-Year-Only 1974 Camaro Up For Grabs Cheap! Get The Catalog Ready!

Sometimes, all you need for a perfect Craigslist score is the seller’s capriciousness. The prize up for grabs used to be what they wanted…until they saw something they wanted just a little bit more. Then it’s out with the old, in with the new, and to the smart shopper go the spoils. Take this 1974 Camaro…first year for the shovelnose style, last year for the small rear window. In any roadable condition, these cars are bringing a lot more than the $2,500 this one is being sold for, and the missing lower valance and pretty much missing interior aren’t anything to worry about…junkyard hunting will scare up the valance, and the lower grille and interior is catalog fodder. Overall, though, it’s a 350-powered Camaro with a four-speed. Enough said, right? With the Keystones on all four corners, it looks like every other mid-1970s Camaro we grew up with, and that isn’t a bad thing. Assess the engine, save up for another gear or two in the manual trans, and prepare for what looks to be a good start for a restoration or build. Or, just make sure everything is in good running order and daily this F-body. Your call!

  1. Turbo Regal

I have a friend restoring a 74 LT 4spd car. A lot of one year only parts on these cars but I still like the flatter back window better than the wrap around ones on later models

get a valence and interior in it, lower it down with some nice pro touring suspension. Nothing crazy, just enough, and you’ve got a sweet daily driver.
