Roll racing looks awesome. Meant to duplicate freeway blasts, the idea is to get the cars to a matched speed and side-by-side by the Christmas tree, then let them go for broke down the quarter mile. It’s great fun for street cars, but someone decided to showcase some big brass ones at this roll race in Oklahoma by bringing out his 2300 pound, nitrous assisted Pro Mod C5 Corvette. It’s not that there’s anything particularly wrong with this, but look at the competition: new Mustang, a modified RX-7 FD, and a Mitsubishi Evo that looks serious enough…you know, street cars, with license plates. The Corvette might have been jetted down to “just” 500 horsepower with a 200 horsepower shot of displacement-in-a-bottle, but the wide by huge slicks at the rear, wheelie bars and parachutes scream out “Give up, sucker…no chance!” and the footage backs it up. Not bad…now let’s see it eat with all 1100 or so horsepower!
Oh, yeah…”it’s a street car!”
Street car? I want to see it drive down the Interstate for 100 miles atleast then we can talk about STREET CAR! Also is it insured to drive on the street?????
