Another One Returns To The Road: This Bullnose Ford Gets A Second Lease On Life!

Another One Returns To The Road: This Bullnose Ford Gets A Second Lease On Life!

Heritage vehicles don’t exist in my family. They don’t stick around long enough. Looking back over thirty-plus years of vehicles, and not one lasted longer than ten years. The ’82 Firebird S/E that my dad’s mother owned? Gone. The ’75-ish Malibu that my aunt owned? Traded for a Volvo. The 1978 Cutlass Supreme owned by an aunt? Sold out from underneath her. The ’75 Camaro that cemented my place as a gearhead? Sent to the crusher. Family cars, hot rods, whatever…nothing lasted. Even the cars my grandfather owned didn’t stick around too long, and that kind of sucks. It’d be nice to have a rolling reminder of someone in the family, be it my grandfather’s last car, or one of the trucks my dad owned, or something along those lines. It doesn’t have to be a desirable or rare rig, just one that means a lot to you.

For Dylan McCool’s family, this bullnose Ford F-150 is that kind of rig. Owned by one of his grandfathers and down for the count since about 2007, the Ford was in need of some work to get it back on the road. A run-in with a tornado turned up another 1980s Ford truck from the family as the perfect parts donor vehicle, and McCool has been busy getting the F-150 back on the road. It’s a neat story and cool to see that the old truck isn’t just left in a field as a “someday” project but is back on the road right now. Another one lives on…
