Aussie Goodness: A Street Driven Twin-Turbo Ford Falcon XR6 Running 9.35 In The Quarter

Aussie Goodness: A Street Driven Twin-Turbo Ford Falcon XR6 Running 9.35 In The Quarter

The more we see of these seriously boosted Ford Barra-powered Falcons, the more jealous we start to get. Their 4.0L six is an inline that in max stock form, punched out 416 horsepower and 417 ft/lbs of torque. Our 4.0L six is a V6 that couldn’t pull a greased string out of a goose without an aftermarket supercharger. But in the great Aussie fashion, nothing is really left stock, and this plain-Jane looking FG Falcon XR6 is well beyond stock. But it isn’t really that wild…lots of fuel upgrades, turbocharger upgrades and a strengthening of the ZF six-speed automatic. Now packing 800 or so horsepower to the wheels, this Falcon has no trouble handling it’s own on the strip. But in it’s street guise, you’d never know the difference. Awesome.

yep, common as too, very easy to obtain. There are a ton of the older BA turbo’s available too, as low as 3 – 5 grand in good nick. Not only are they turbo’d, they handle, have good brakes, leather interior and top quality sound..better looking than these later FG’s too!
