Skill, Luck, Or Both? This GT500 Narrowly Avoids A Serious Incident At Hockenheimring

Skill, Luck, Or Both? This GT500 Narrowly Avoids A Serious Incident At Hockenheimring

Hauling ass on a roadcourse isn’t the time to learn that your car isn’t completely healthy. It’s one thing to have known about an issue when you drive onto the track…whatever happens after that is simply your own fault for your lack of action. But there is that chance that you will never see a failure coming and it’s what you do once something breaks that determines whether you fix your car or replace your car.

This in-car footage is of a Ford Mustang GT500 as it’s ripping around the famed Hockenheimring in Germany. Taking the huge left sweep Parabolika wide open, the Ford gains a good amount of speed before entering the braking zone. And once the braking zone is hit, you hear the magical two words that spell immediate trouble for anybody involved: “Oh, shit…!” Doing the only thing he possibly can, he pitches the Shelby sideways and rips the emergency brake, hoping for the best.  There’s lots of screaming tires, lots of smoke, but does the driver slam the Mustang into the wall or does this guy become an instant hero? Click below and see for yourself.

NSFW WARNING: Losing brakes causes rampant swearing in any language, and it’s in English and very loud.

Thanks to Brian Good for the tip!

Like a BOSS! Whole lotta credit for staying calm and acting instead of panicking and plowing it.

They saved it huh? I don’t think so.They panicked ,jammed on the brakes and were along for the ride. Saving it would have been getting off the brakes once they were locked and re applying them to steer out of it.
