Another One Being Revived: This 1977 Dodge D100 Is Being Rescued After Sitting For Over Two Decades!

I told you that I was all about automotive revivals this year! While I’m still plugging away at my own setup (and nursing a wound on my hand, thank you drum brakes), others are going the full-kill route and are plucking vehicles that haven’t moved in decades and are busting their humps to get them up and running. One person in particular we’ve been paying attention to a bit lately is Dylan McCool, a YouTuber with a strong Mopar kick who has been snapping them up and getting them moving. Already this year he’s scored a 1969 Charger, a later 1970s Chrysler Cordoba, and has messed around with other projects, but this orange 1977 Dodge D100 is one his dad picked up. A neat little shortbed with a 318 and an automatic, it’s been parked for twenty-five years…long enough that lichens had to be pressure-blasted off of the outer sheetmetal during the cleanup. If there was ever a reason to own a 1970s-1990s pickup, this is your answer: anvil tough, durable, and simple to work on. Plus, with the 1970s Dodge slot mags on it, the D100 looks pretty good too! We hope to see more cleanup work done on this rig…these D-series trucks have great lines and just look tough!

My personal opinion of Dodge trucks is the 73 to 93 models with their clean lines had the best styling. I remember their special edition, “Little Red Wagon” named after the exhibition drag truck even made this Ford man want one. I also remember an orange 79 D100 a friend bought which rivaled the styling of the other guys’ Fords & Chevys.
