The Dodge Viper has always made a strange competitor against the Corvette. On paper, it seemed to make sense: two American high-performance rear-drive two seaters that had aspirations of taking on the world and the sack full of what it took to do it. But in real life, it was a strange comparison: In one corner you had America’s sweetheart in fiberglass, and in the other corner was a growling, angry, all-American f**k you to any and everyone that wasn’t worthy. Unfortunately, we’re all but certain that the Viper’s flame is about to go out, and the Corvette is hotter than it’s ever been…when everything is going right with the surprisingly temperamental LT4.
