It’s official: Roadkill has hit a high point with popularity, and this Craigslist ad for a green 1970 Plymouth Duster in Washington State is one of the first we’ve seen that is bent on capitalizing on Freiburger and Finnegan’s fame. Is Roadkill’s newest creation badass and worthy of a following? Hell yes it is…but selling that car in the backyard because you chose to capitalize on that success is something else together. Seriously, check out the ad:
Perfect start for your own Roadkill build. Make it your version of project Crop Duster.
Was slant six car, ready for your 340 clone or hot LA small block
Rolling chassis, no engine but do have a core small block 727 torque flite transmission.
1970 Plymouth Duster. Has V8 K member, 4 piston small bolt disc brakes, 340 torsion bars, 8 3/4 rear end (not posi) and 6 leaf 340 spring.
All suspension parts came out of a 1970 Duster 340.
Green on green, original paint and interior. Neither are nice, but no hidden problems.
Very little rust, body is really straight.
Great start for your project.
$2250 May be open to trades or part trades
Make Freiburger and Finnegan proud!
$2250 for a roller Duster is already making an eye twitch a little, and you’d need to toss in at least the same amount to get the car running and driving. Could it be worth it? Ask yourself: What Would Roadkill Do?

I have to admit that it’s a tempting proposition.
I’ve been daydreaming about finding a Duster in poor enough shape to not merit a restore, and building it up as a supercharged LA-block powered prerunner/short course desert racer.
^your head. i like where it is at
I was kind of puzzled at a Duster prerunner idea – then I realized all you’d need to do is crank the front torsion bars and either swap shackles or flip the rear axle perches upside-down. Then throw some big tires on it and you’re ready to hit the sand!
Spot on! maybe some fender trimming, a ball-joint drop and an assist ram in the steering, and it would be pretty much ready to go. Run it until it breaks, then 4-link the rear, fab up long-travel A-arms and repeat!
Ouch, the spelling on that meme gave me a headache. Happiness, not hapiness, and Freiburger, not Frieburger.
As for the car, it’s got a lot of potential. I’d drop in a 5.7L Hemi with a carburetor and a cheapie blow-through turbo setup
That definitely looks like a candidate for a “Day 2” car! For the price I wouldn’t wait too long(too bad its on the wrong coast)!
I don’t need another project car, but the price is tempting and its only 30 miles away
Well, if anyone is hell bent on buying it….I’d suggest looking for drivers side/front end impact damage. That fender does not match the car. I realize that there is a multitude of reasons this could be but…
Price seems high to me….but…I like green and my 383/727 run hard….
