Tough Truck races are, as far as I’m concerned at least, a Viking funeral for a truck that has worked long and hard, and is at the end of it’s road. Pushing the truck well beyond the expected limits, either the truck survives and can reap the glory, or the truck finally breaks and is carted off to the inevitable end at a crusher somewhere. This ragged-out and rusted 1980s Dodge Ramcharger is one such beast, well beyond it’s limits and prepared to make a good showing at the Knox County Fairgrounds on a single-truck pass. And it looks and sounds like a very solid run…up until that one last jump. You know the type, the one big jump meant to get the maximum amount of air underneath the tires. There’s a chance that the truck could just bounce on the landing and live to race another day. There’s a chance that the suspension isn’t ready for the landing and things will break. And then, there’s the question of whether or not the V8 up front is going to cause the Dodge to auger into the ground, Ram hood ornament first. Click play below to find out what happens!
