The House of Representatives approved the emergency $2 billion infusion of funds to save the “Cash for Clunkers” program on Friday as they were walking out the door for a month off. Now the Senate has to do the same thing or the program will be dead and buried.
The Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood (shown) said that without the funds the program would be suspended as any available cash has been drained. People can go ahead and buy a car tomorrow and in the event that the Senate does not approve (HA! Yeah Right!) this the government will stand by the offer.
