Now THIS is pretty wild. The guys at Busted Knuckle recently featured a cold vulcanizing rubber tire repair kit that is nothing like we have ever seen before. This product is designed to repair big gashes, gouges, and holes in the sides of off-road tires that are used on tractors, used on rock bouncers, UTVs, and more. It seems like some sort of horrible, janky idea on paper but in reality, this junk really seems to work. It is a multi-part product, basically like JB Weld for rubber and it’s pretty freaking neat if you ask us.
The video below takes us through the repair of a big off-road tire that has a few sidewall gashes after living on the corner of a rock bouncer. In many ways you prepare the tire in the same way you would prepare a crack in steel that you were about to weld. Basically open the thing up, clean the area, and apply the stuff. The payoff in the video comes at the end when we see the finished repair and learn that it has been used on a rock buggy for weeks already and has withstood the bounces, the rocky crags, and the other junk that these tires have to put up with while their owners try to actively kill them every second of every day.
