Cool Circle Track Racing Organization: The Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association

We have to thank our pal and the dude behind Clunkbucket.com, Mike Bumbeck, for tipping us off to the Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association. This group of racers is based up in Maine and runs some totally awesome old school stock cars, modifieds, and other junk on tracks, both dirt and asphalt, around New England. This stuff just doesn’t “seem” old, it is. Lots of these cars were raced way back in the day.

The engines are flatheads, straight sixes, and even buzzin’ four bangers, the bodies are steel and the wheel wells are modified with sawzalls. Wicked Good has four divisions than range from the “Bomber Class” which appears from the photos we saw to be the most “correct” from the 1940s jalopy racing era, all the way up to the Outlaw class filled up with everything from ’66 Buicks, to ’30s Dodges.

They run a bunch of different tracks through New England each summer and attend shows when they aren’t tearing around race tracks. We’re going to make it a point to take in one of the events that these guys are running at, especially one at a small track we’ve never been to before.

The photo galleries are awesome so make sure you hit the link below and check out one of the coolest groups of vintage iron you’ll ever see!
