Cool New Product: Global West Suspension Blackline Suspension Bushings for 2005-2012 Mustangs

Chad and I had been hearing some buzz around the show floor at SEMA regarding Global West Suspensions and their new “Blackline” series of products. The Blackline name signifies that all the products in this line will be drag racing themed and we quickly spotted their newest offering, which is aimed right at the late model Mustang crowd.

Go to your local strip on any given night and you’ll see a gaggle of Mustangs hauling down the track. You’ll also see guys struggling to get them hooked up and there’s good reason for that. Standard production cars aren’t optimized for straight line drag strip performance.

The ability for a car to transfer weight to the rear tires is largely dependant on the suspension and its freedom of movement. When things get all bound up and distorted, traction goes out the window. Long story short, the guys at Global West identified one of the primary issues with getting a late model Mustang to work at the strip and it was hiding right in the front end of the car.

Their new Blackline bushings allow the free and unhindered drop of the front suspension upon launching your car, working to move all of that weight onto the rear tires, increasing traction and dropping short times on the strip. Like all Global West products they will not deflect, bind, or act out of line in any way. We can speak with this level of confidence because we’re personal users of their products.

If you are hitting the strip in your late model Mustang and you’ve hit a performance plateau, get on the horn with Global West. These bushings could be just the ticket to lowering those elapsed times!
