Our last round of “cool or not” was interesting because we showed the BangShift readers a 1962 Impala low rider done in the traditional form. The responses to that car were cool because it affirmed our belief that BangShifty gearheads are able to appreciate stuff that isn’t in their normal realm. We’re going to push that a step further with this selection.
This bike was in the large display House of Kolor (Valspar) at SEMA 2011. Like the low rider from last week, this is a chopper in the old school traditional sense. There is no steamroller rear tire, no idiot gimmick crap to make the motorcycle look like a fire truck, jet plane, or Batmobile, and there is not one unnecessary doo-dad on the thing. It is stripped down to the very essence of a frame, motor, and seat.
It is also wearing some of the most intricate and vibrant paint work we saw at the entire show. With all of the wiring hidden, the exhaust pipes routed in a way that makes them appear from nowhere by the rear tire, the V-twin engine with copper lines, and incredibly narrow profile, this is a chopper the likes of which we have not seen in some time, if ever.
Check the photos and tell us what you think! Is this chopper too cool for school or too far out in left field?
Cool !! In a big Indian Larry sort of way. That stuff never gets old
Neat bike. I am not a big bike person but can appreciate one that looks unique and requires skill like this.
I like it. The paint is awesome, and I like the older style choppers, with fat tires, and gimmicky add-ons.
‘Woulda been nice to see the primary-side of the bike…
It appears to have a Knucklehead top end on alternator case halves.
‘Kinda looks like a toned-down Ron Finch bike.
That paint job alone is amazing!!
The detail is amazing!! a lot of it in a small package. Notice that the carb and exhaust are switched around…. too cool of a custom touch!!! WWAAAAYYY! Nice.
good for advertising house of kolor paint..but harley v-twins and me stop at the 45. I like machinery going with the bigger picture of origin..and that paint is very …ethnic a correct word?
Brian, Is this some sort of trick question? This thing is beyond cool, it’s Bad Ass!
Whats not to like…
For it’s purpose, (Show) it is a nice piece,,,,,but,,,,how far would the owner ride it????????????
Cool!
Really Guys, this is another one where ya ain’t even gotta’ ask. And the fact that it’s “Old School” just screams, “Get yer motor runnin'”. I mean, Biker, Rodder, or what, this where we CAME from guys!
