Let’s take a walk on the weird side for a minute and examine the Invader TC-3, a “reverse trike” that seems to blend high performance super bikes with sports cars. The “reverse” part of the trike name comes from the fact that this vehicle uses a single drive wheel in the rear and two tires that do the turning up front. Packing a 197hp Hayabsa engine and weighing next to nothing, this little creation must haul some serious ass.
The tires on the back of the Invader is humongous but we suspect you can still smoke it at will in the first couple of gears. Gear changing comes from a six speed sequentially shifted transmission with an electric reverse and the top speed is said to be 150mph. It will seat two people, although if those two people are on the beefy side, it will be an intimate experience.
A vehicle like this in Massachusetts would have to be registered as a motorcycle, at least that’s what we think having seen a couple of other variations on this theme and they all fell into that category. These rules probably vary from state to state.
So what do you think? Is the Invader a unique and cool speedster or something a little too weird? Would you drive it?

Not it just reminds me of those can-am spyders and they suck to ride IMO and just look akward
this looks like something designed by a Star Wars geek, for other Star Wars geeks.
I think that this is a great idea, and probably still knocks down 35 mpg. My dad and I have built five trikes both VW and Corvair powered. The last one sold to a disabled gent. This is a great cross between a hot rod and a motorcycle, and I think it’s awesome!
What’s not to like?
Looks like a rip off of the T-Rex by Campagna, they started making them in the ’90s.
The company changed owners a few years ago.
Have a look: http://www.campagnamotors.com/
The thing probably screams but still gets a thumbs down.
I could see this thing parked at a DragonCon convention.
Seems to be an answer to a question nobody is asking
I’ve designed many road and race vehicles. The design flaw in any trike is how to avoid road kill and other road debris. Certainly can’t straddle it. Not to mention the overturning moment is about half that of a 4-wheeled machine of the same dimensions.
This is something you drive for the “Look At Me”
factor. Like renting it for cruising the strip at some tourist beach like Panama City in Florida.
Morgan 3wheelers never had reverse. The chap driving had to push it out of it’s parking stall.
