It is always nice to find a pearl of good in the sewer pipe of bad news that flows freely these days. A regular Joe bus mechanic named William Sitdham from Olympia, Washington recently won more than half a million dollars in the state’s weekly lottery called the “Hit 5”.

Like millions of people across the country, he plays his numbers each week, throwing a couple bucks in the proverbial wishing well with the hope that the small investment will return tens or hundreds of thousands of times over. In this case, it did.

According to a story we spotted on MSNBC, Stidham plans on keeping his job as a mechanic for the Thurston School District and more importantly (with respect to BangShifters) he is going to buy back a Camaro (not the one shown in the lead photo) that he owned and wrenched on for 20 years before selling it to help pay his mortgage and cover the cost of his daughter’s wedding.

Obviously, we don’t know William from a hole in the wall, but he seems like a decent guy for putting his family ahead of his hot rod. It had to have eaten at him pretty good as he made a deal with the buyer that if the circumstance ever presented itself that he could buy the car back he would be able to. Apparently the buyer was more than happy to sell the car back to Stidham.
