We’re getting into Bonneville mode already as Speed Week has already gotten off the ground with tech inspection yesterday. We were planning on finding some clapped out junk Bonneville for Chad to cruise out to the salt in, but what we found is potentially the coolest Pontiac wagon in history. One of five examples, this 1962 Bonneville Safari is a powerful and fully optioned cruiser that served as GM executive Bernard Eacho Sr’s personal car.
This car is packing a Tri-Power 389ci motor, a three speed automatic transmission, severe duty suspension, eight lug wheels, the Safe-T-Track rear end, front buckets with a console, and about half a million other options that only a GM executive could have spec’d out.
The asking price on the car is $32,500, which we think is pretty good change for a car this rare and in such fantastic condition. This is a handsome car that has plenty of scoot and loads of style.
We’re not going out on a limb when we say this could be the coolest Pontiac production wagon ever.
