Nothing inspires buyer confidence like poorly lit nighttime shots of a black car. By our estimation this VW Bug is one ugly son of a gun, but by the list of mechanical parts that appear to make up the guts of the car, it may be a runner. Crappy paint, no interior, and it hauls ass? Yep, that’s totally us.
We’re not exactly experts in the fast VW field, but with a stroker motor filled with Scat H-beam rods, a hot Engle cam, worked over heads, a fiberglass front end, and 4.37 gears, we’re thinking that first gear wheelies are a foregone conclusion. Muscle car owners would be made to sweat, if only for a gear or two.
The downsides? Even though the night photos are junk, the body appears to be ugly, there’s no interior, half of the windows are lexan which scratched when looked at sideways, and (for us anyway) it’s located on the wrong side of the country.
The price is right in our book. To be prowling the streets in this little baddie for less than $2K? That’s smart money!
